A comedian from the middle of the woods of the Kingston Peninsula Jake has performed from coast to coast in Canada. He will be bringing a taste of sketch comedy to Dooryard with some oddball characters and excessive yelling. A graduate of St. Thomas University and the Second City Sketch Conservatory, he is a former member of the Canadian Comedy award-winning sketch comedy group, “The Sketchersons.” He currently performs improv in Fredericton with Dead Serious Comedy.

A self-taught woodworking artisan, crafting furniture, carvings and sculptures in his studio in Grafton, NB, relying largely on wood species native to the area such as basswood, pine and butternut. His work often features motifs which reflect the local history and culture and highlight the flora and fauna of western NB. Kerry feels a spiritual connection with nature, especially the trees which he considers a gift from the Creator that allows him to be an instrument of expression.

Two-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee Mike Bravener began his career as a professional entertainer in 2003 at the age of 42. He won many awards as a professional Elvis Tribute Artist and was selected by Elvis Presley Enterprises as one of their top 20 artists in the world. Mike has released numerous albums featuring traditional Miramichi and New Brunswick folk music and has twice earned a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for “Best Traditional Singer”. His most recent album is 2022’s “Have You Heard the Story.”

She moved to Canada in 2014 to pursue her career and eventually moved east to become an essential part of Newfoundland’s celebrated music scene. This short film was created and directed by Matthew Brown and Janice Wright Cheney, with an original score by Zachary Greer. Shot in various locations in the Wabanaki-Acadian forests of NB, it tells the dystopian tale of a naturalist who is determined to prove the existence of the fabled Eastern Cougar. Matthew Brown is a filmmaker based in Menagoesg/Saint John. Janice Wright Cheney is a visual artist based in Eqpahak/Fredericton. Zachary Greer is a composer based in Eqpahak/Fredericton.
